How Basifold works

Basifold is a seller-funded marketplace for fixed-price Stock Token offers. The current public app runs on Robinhood Chain Testnet with no-value mock assets. Mainnet trading is not available yet.

Listing

A seller approves the market to transfer a chosen Stock Token and creates a lot with an amount, price in USDG per token, and expiry. The whole listed amount is escrowed onchain. A seller can close an active offer at any time and retrieve its unsold balance. After expiry anyone may close it, but the return always goes to the seller.

Buying

A buyer specifies a quantity and reviews the exact USDG cost, rounded up to the token’s smallest unit. They approve USDG and submit the purchase with a maximum cost and deadline. The contract transfers USDG to the seller and Stock Tokens to the buyer atomically. Partial fills reduce the remaining amount. A failed transfer reverts the entire transaction.

Current testnet deployment

These assets have no value and are not official Robinhood assets. The app can mint them for testing; network gas still requires test ETH. A public testnet check covered listing, partial buying, seller cancellation and token return. That check is not a contract audit.

Mainnet conditions

No Basifold mainnet market is deployed. Before any mainnet launch, the deployment must use verified canonical contract addresses and token properties, pass a separate preflight, and be explicitly confirmed locally by the deployer. The site will not label test assets as mainnet assets.

Material risks

A fixed price may differ from current market value or become unattractive while an offer is open. Token value can fall, available buyers can disappear, and liquidity is not guaranteed. Escrow and settlement depend on smart contracts and the underlying token behaving as expected. A Stock Token can have multipliers, issuer rules, restrictions or corporate-action changes; the contract stops a purchase if its recorded multiplier changes, but that does not eliminate all asset risk. The contracts have not been independently audited. Eligibility for Stock Tokens depends on applicable rules and issuer restrictions.
